Pano Piano
Pano Piano offers tailored, engaging curriculum focused on strong fundamentals, empowering students to explore themselves and the world of music.Private Lessons
Weekly, 1:1 sessions for all ages (3+) and levels, from absolute beginners to university and adult students.Curious to start piano lessons? From the very first lesson, students will learn to play songs that they already love. Beyond the familiar, they will explore new pieces that they will come to love, and begin building the foundation for a lifelong love for music and piano playing.
For students who are just starting out with the piano, the first two years revolve around the important fundamentals of reading music, translating tunes to the piano, hearing harmony and rhythm, harmonizing chords to melodies, and playing with comfort and healthy technique. The lessons also include elements of improvisation, composition, and even duet playing! Students can play in two recitals a year, and invite friends and family to enjoy the performances together. After 1-3 years, depending on progress and readiness, students can start to prepare for festival performances of many genres, or even exams and competitions.
At the beginner level, weekly private lessons are 30 to 45 minutes.
Combined Group and Private Class Program:
Based on the University of Toronto Piano Pedagogy curriculum, the program is designed to engage and celebrate the study of music and piano for each unique student. From the first class, students experience a lively, movement and "ear" based approach to music, singing solfege, learning folk songs, and exploring an array of creative possibilities at the piano. The combined group class and private lesson format continues into the late elementary level, providing students (and families!) a social setting to learn together as well as a sense of community and sharing that is so important to music. During the private lessons, students develop technique, critical and deep listening skills, musicality and expression - learning many piano pieces across different genres and sources, based on each child's specific level of development and interests. Beginning and elementary level students aged 5-10 are welcome to join the program, assessment and interview depending.Certifications and Examinations
